How do you disclose ads, and do you need an influencer license, in the United Arab Emirates?

Since 1 February 2026, anyone advertising online in the UAE needs a UAE Media Council Advertiser Permit, paid or unpaid, regardless of follower count.

The Advertiser Permit is free for UAE citizens and residents for its first three years, then about AED 1,000 a year. Visitors apply through a Council-accredited agency for a three-month permit, about AED 500, renewable.

Residents monetizing content also need a commercial trade or freelance license, roughly AED 6,000–15,000 a year.
