How do you disclose ads, and do you need an influencer license, in the United States?

The FTC expects clear terms such as #ad, #sponsored or "Paid Partnership", shown early in the post rather than buried in hashtags.

The FTC's Endorsement Guides, revised in June 2023, make influencers themselves liable for misleading endorsements, and say a platform's built-in paid-partnership label may not be enough on its own.
