Can you fly a drone to film or photograph in Malaysia?

Every drone flight needs prior CAAM authorisation. Low-risk flights (within sight, below 400 ft) use a Standard Authorisation to Fly (ATF), applied for at least 14 working days ahead (RM250 for a small drone equipped for surveillance or data capture), with JUPEM, SIRIM and MCMC approvals and the landowner's permission. A Standard ATF needs no RCOC-B pilot certificate; that applies to more advanced work such as extended line-of-sight or agricultural flights.
