Can you fly a drone to film or photograph in the United Kingdom?
Since 1 January 2026, a Flyer ID (free online test) is needed for drones of 100 g or more. An Operator ID is also needed for drones of 100 g or more with a camera, or 250 g or more without one.

New drones sold in the UK carry UK class marks (UK0–UK6) from 2026. Remote ID is required on class-marked drones now, and on unmarked camera drones of 100 g or more from 1 January 2028.
